Nintendo is a Japanese company founded on September 23, 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi. It was originally a manufacturer of handmade hanafuda playing cards. It entered the video game industry in 1974 when it became the Japanese distributor of the Magnavox Odyssey video game console. Nintendo's first original games (and video game console) came in 1977 when they released their Color TV Game series of systems. Today, they still develop games as well as video game consoles. There are several video game systems by Nintendo that have had adventure games released for them:
